2026 Conference Keynotes

In February, Hannah was the closing keynote presenter at the Resilient Land and Seas 2026 Symposium. Collaborating at scale for nature and people was the theme of the conference held at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh.

Hannah took a look back at the journey of the Scottish Forum on Natural Capital, and reflected on how its work has helped Scotland build cohesive communities of partners around emerging nature restoration projects. She revealed how this had been achieved in Scotland by the Forum building a joined-up network which shares knowledge and best practice, learnings and case studies; builds connections between on the ground projects and policy makers; and provides mutual support.

Through the CircHive Investor Hub Conference on 21 May, hosted by the University of Edinburgh Business School and the School of GeoSciences, and supported by the Edinburgh Centre for Financial Innovations (ECFI) and its Nature Finance Lab (NFL), the conference brought together academics, investors, policymakers and practitioners to discuss investing in nature. As a city with deep historical links to finance, economics and innovation, Edinburgh provided an appropriate backdrop for conversations on investing in nature, Natural Capital Accounting and Biodiversity uplift counting. Hannah discussed the challenges of making nature restoration projects work with blended finance.
